Gated Resort-like Community

Cabo Del Mar condos Huntington Beach are located in a beautiful gated resort-like community.  There is one entrance and one exit to this complex.  Thus, keeping traffic to a minimum and noise levels down.  Many of the condos back up to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve.  This Reserve consists of hundreds of acres of vacant land. The Department of Fish and Game protects the coastal wetlands.  This is significant because some of the condos have distant ocean views without obstruction.

Cabo Del Mar was constructed in 1983-84 with a variety of different models and floor plans.  There are 288 condominium units in multiple buildings.  These are spread out over four streets (Dorado Drive, Abalone Lane, Tortuga Drive, Corbina Lane) within the community.  They are convenient to the nearby Huntington Harbor shopping mall.

The Cabo Del Mar Huntington Beach floor plans have a wide variety to choose from:

Bachelor Units

There are 72 bachelor units or studios.  These feature cozy living rooms with wood burning fireplaces, full bathrooms with large oval tubs and laundry closets.  Skylights let plenty of light in to make the 535 +/- square foot units feel spacious.  These studios are located on one level; either up or downstairs, they are one story units.

1 Bedroom Condos

There’s 120 one bedroom models.  These units range in size from 761 square feet and larger.  The kitchen area has plenty of storage space with room for a dining table.  The living room features a two-sided fireplace with room to entertain.  The bedroom has dual closets and a master bathroom with dual vanities.  Some of the one bedroom floor plans include a loft with enough space for an office or play area.  These one bedroom condos were built as one story units, two story units or the dynamic tri-level plan.

2 Bedroom Condos

There are 96 two bedroom units.  The size and square footage for these range from approx 923 – 1,105.  Double sided fireplaces, spacious living rooms and individual laundry rooms are common in these models.  The bedrooms are roomy with dual closets.  Not all of the two bedroom floor plans have two bathrooms, some have only one bathroom.  Many of the two bedroom condos have spiral staircases leading up to lofts.  These lofts have often been expanded or used as a separate unofficial third bedroom.  These two bedrooms are one story and two stories.

High ceilings and large windows are common.  The windows and sliding glass doors make the units feel light and bright.  Private patios, decks and balconies are an extension of the living area or bedroom area. These offer lots of room to enjoy the outdoors.  Some patios are up to 20 feet wide.

Community Amenities

Cabo Del Mar condos Huntington Beach are exceptional with the community amenities they offer.  Residents enjoy a large resort style pool and spa with plenty of room to layout and enjoy the sun.  Residents have access to a sauna and community clubhouse.  The clubhouse is used for monthly HOA meetings and may be reserved, with advanced notice, for parties and gatherings.  Additionally, there’s a lighted tennis court and racquetball court for residents and their guests.  Parking for residents is located in an underground community garage and designated by space number.  The community offers lots of extra parking spaces for guests throughout the grounds.

Best Feature

The buildings on Tortuga Drive have coastal wetland and ocean views.  Therefore, many of the balconies and patios off these units are very private and desirable.

Cabo Del Mar Homeowners Association

The monthly HOA fees are based on square footage and range from approx $317 – $430.  These dues include the community features such as the grounds, greenbelts, lighted tennis court, clubhouse, sauna, pool, spa and racquetball court.  The HOA also includes water, trash, sewer, fire and earthquake insurance.
